Church of Panagia Eleeistria in Koroni incorporated as a foundation

A Presidential Decree “On the Operation, Governance, and Management of the Church of Panagia Eleeistria in Koroni of the Holy Metropolis of Messinia” was published in the Government Gazette of July 10th, 2008, (First Issue, Number 121) effectively endowing the church with foundation status.

A Presidential Decree “On the Operation, Governance, and Management of the Church of Panagia Eleeistria in Koroni of the Holy Metropolis of Messinia” was published in the Government Gazette of July 10th, 2008, (First Issue, Number 121) effectively endowing the church with foundation status.

The purpose of the new foundation is to promote the litourgical, theological, communication, philanthropic, cultural and missionary work of the local Messinian Church.

The Foundation is governed by a five-member board presided by the His Holiness the Metropolitan of Messinia Mr. Chrysostomos. Mr. Dimitris Maniatakis, Chairman of the Maniatakeion Foundation, was appointed a Member of the Board.

Mr. Maniatakis thanked His Holiness for this honor and stated that both he and the Maniatakeion Foundation will be proud to support the work of the Eleeistria.

The Maniatakeion Foundation is a non-profit institution dedicated to cultural, social, and development activities for Koroni and the region and takes great pride in supporting events that showcase the region, bring together its diverse population, and invite more people to become familiar with its culture and beauty.
