Christmas Bazaar in Koroni

Once again, on Saturday, December 19th and Sunday, December 20th, the Christmas Bazaar, organized by the Koroni Women’s Group in the grounds of the Koroni High School, attracted many visitors, among the Greek and international communities of Koroni, as well as the Prefect of Messinia Dimitris Drakos, Koroni Mayor Theodoros Salantis, and Androusa Mayor Aristomenis Papadopoulos, as well as representatives of local government and institutions.

Everybody had a good time meeting with friends and shopped for delicacies, handicrafts, artworks, accessories, custom jewelry, books, Christmas decorations, toys offered at good prices by local merchants and many donors. In addition to all that, raffles were also sold with prizes offered by Koroni and Kalamata merchants. (The drawing took place on December 23rd, at the Athens offices of the Maniatakeion Foundation).

Like last year, the event was supported by the Municipality of Koroni, the Koroni High School, Elementary and Kindergarten, the Koroni Cultural Association, the Koroni Merchants Club, the Koroni Association “Panaghia I Eleeistria”, and the Maniatakeion foundation, and was made possible by the efforts of several volunteers, with special credit to the tireless former Deputy Mayor of Koroni Takis Stamatopoulos.

Encouraged by the success of the event, the organizers are looking forward to repeating it, with improvements, during the next holiday season.

All proceeds will go to charity.
